You dont need to purchase a 64 bit version of windows 7. The same key will activate both 32 and 64 bit products. You just need the 64 bit dvd. You used to be able to download the media directly...

The cursor jumping sounds like you may be hitting the touchpad on accident when typing.. causing the cursor to jump around - try disabling the touchpad and try typing again, and you'll know for sure...
