+1 on the above. Both families you mention are pretty much rock solid - that said, if you have access to both, it certainly wouldn't hurt to diversify.

"Never put all your eggs in one basket" always applies, even with solid companies like Vanguard and Fidelity.
I worry about computer failure or an accounting mistake causing my money to disappear....
