I just checked the Specifications tab for the drive and it still says 5400rpm. If it's 7200rpm that would be cool. where did you see it?

Definitely a good deal make sure that you know before you pull the trigger that 1) It is huge and 2) it is not USB powered. You have to plug in the power cord.

That's why I picked one up, going to take it out of the case and stick it in my NAS, don't need a 7200 RPM drive necessarily if it really is a power saving drive that's even better.

The Seagate 3TB GoFlex definitely uses a regular SATA 6.0 HDD (this one). I also had it out and into a Firewire 800 case within minutes of arrival :D

The difference in 32/64 bit OSes (among many other things) is the amount of memory (RAM) they can use. You could use a petabyte hard drive with a 32 bit OS without issue.
