the ESTOOL runs on cd too. I read that the firmware does not need to be updated. http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2181378 I ran the ESTOOL and it had no errors in the quick tests....

Not to offend you but if you don't know how to find the current capacity of your drive you have now, you don't need this. Your current hard drive will have plenty of space for what your using it for.

Exactly. Most failures are from NEWEGG!! Newegg ships hard drives TERRIBLY which is why so many have DOA problems. I never buy hard drives from Newegg.
