don't go any smaller than 22" and that's if you absolutely cannot spend the money to get a decent 23"-25" also, look for 1920 x 1200 resolution (16x10), skip the 1920 x 1080 (16x9)

Contrast ratio -> Higher is better...this is the ratio between the lightest light the monitor can produce vs the darkest dark it can produce...obviously the higher the difference the more accurately...
