Basically a very close person my mine is from Iran and will be going back in a few weeks to visit family.
In Iran, 22 Karat Gold is everywhere and pretty cheap. You can't buy it in Bars however...

22k gold is almost pure gold. It is the same purity as most US gold coins. As long as it is marked, you should be ok, again providing you can trust the source.
