Actually I believe this phone does NOT support LTE...it only supports the HSPA+ format...so therefore you only get the 3G+ (shouldn't even be called 4g, its stupid...and yes I know 4g isn't REAL 4g...

Yes. Government mandates that all carriers must allow customers to port over numbers. I.e., you retain your phone number when switching carriers.

Yeah you can change at any time they will just prorate the time of the month for the original and new plan. No fee to do it. Just beware once you switch from one plan to another you cant go back...

yes for android you can have it so that 3g is turned off when on wifi. as for amount of data, its really hard to tell. i would say start with 200 mb and move up as needed. just use it for a week...
