Tennis do you have a link to the warranty information? I'd read in some other post cracking the enclosure voids the warranty. Or can someone else confirm this?

If you pop it out of the enclosure, the drive itself will have a 3yr warranty, so don't fret. The external itself maybe 1yr, but the drive inside should be anywhere from 2-5years warranty. Me...

1 year warranty on the 3TB kills it for me. To think Seagate used to have a 5 year warranty! Also guessing if you crack the enclosure it voids the warranty?
