Not sure if this deal ever really stopped. I picked up the same earlier this week on an i7-2600K/Asus P8Z68-V for a new rig I built. Still, rep'd as a great reminder for people.

I love this deal! Saved the most from what I can recall. I purchases the cheapest board and had great OC features. I got the Biostar. The only thing I can think of that was a con was the board...

That was a good deal that you've got there. Adding 8GB of RAM and a good (doesn't have to be great or top of the line) graphic card, I could have built one for about $400!

Agreed. Core2Quad's are still pretty high in price. Doubt the 2500k will drop significantly. Maybe newegg or MC will have a slick black friday deal for some 2500k's, but that'd be the only thing we...

I love the gigabyte model. I''m also a loyal Gigabyte enthusiast, but with reason. I think it's a great board, the others are fine, but I'd personally go with the Gigabyte.

This is argueable since it seems the batch of the CPU matters the most in this situation. I have a 2600k @ 5.2ghz with 1.5v and my G.skill @ 1.65v with no degradation in the last 8 months while...

When I was in the store a few weeks ago to pick up my 2600k they told me it was $80 off with the 2600k and $50 off with the 2500k.

Ask them to see their own october ad Yes, BUT they SH*TBAGGED THE $50 off with the 2500k

Thanks for the link, but I can't seem to find where it says this. Could you be more specific? EDIT: oh, I see, it doesn't actually mention $40, thats just what it comes out to. and btw, it's...

I loved the 40 off with 2500k deal. I bought a 2500k and a mobo and I used a 20 dollar off printed coupon that was supposed to just be for people who received it in email. All said and done I paid...

Do the deals at Microcenter go until 10/30? I'm confused since the online ad is still available and the first few pages says offers are good until 10/30. ...

If your chip is average then it should not kill the chip with 1.65v memory. I personally would go ahead and use it since something isn't exactly right if your CPU dies of just using 1.65v memory ...

I agree completely that it's arguable. I want to use my 1.65V RAM really badly with my i5 that's coming. I've found some places where people say use it, it shouldn't matter, and some where they say...

Maybe a buck or two. I would be surprised if it was a meaningful price drop. Intel has no need to after Bulldozer turned out to be a paper tiger.

Hey, it's a pretty straightforward return but yes you do have to pay for shipping yourself, shouldn't amount to that much.

I have a 965 BE overclocked to 3.8Ghz and moved up to a i2600k overclocked to 4.5Ghz. It's not as dramatic as an improvement as moving from HD to SSD or a major upgrade to your vid card.
