I have one of these and the advantages over the WDTV Live that I also have is it has space for a internal hard drive, 3 USB 2 ports and one USB 3 for files transfers, gigabit LAN port, simple blu ray...

the concept of a device that simply reads video files/ over wifi/lan or usb and has some specific connections to things like facebook, youtube, hulu, etc, is really not worth more than $45 to me.
