This is a solid case. I felt the same way about the elastic band but after 3 months of use it hasn't broken yet which shows the build quality. I paid a lot more and would buy it again.

I had the same problem so I went into the settings and turned off the auto dim feature. Made the obnoxious brightness fluctuations stop.
