It's great info, it just seems like it's in the wrong area. Anyone know if there's a windows phone application that would do this?

Reprogram? These systems are only for monitoring the OBD readings and wiping codes. It won't let you mess with the ecu really. If you're in CA, I'd suggest asking LTBMW. You can find him on E90post....

Anyone know of a unit like the ELM327 that will be able to reprogram a BMW? As in the DRLs, door locks and what not? Thanks if you have the answer!

would this be a BT problem, I mean is the usb more configurable?
Post #47621780 added 02-11-2012 9:30 AM by RotJ in Archived Deals
Apple has restrictive rules on what BT devices are allowed to be interfaced with. There might be apps that work with a jailbroken ios device, but I haven't checked. The app store apps support wifi...

it would do that with OBD1, but not with OBD2 I have elm327 BT adapter, works with torque, and pairs with my laptop, but I cannot get it to work with scantool software, my usb version works fine!

The code will come back once the parameter goes out if spec again yes. Pulling the battery AND discharging the electrical system will clear the code and your radio settings and your readiness...

Do any of these have TPMS data?
Post #44853860 added 11-18-2011 11:32 AM by scoobdude in Archived Deals
Yes all manufactures do. But obdii is a set standard of certain parameters in a certain unit ersal language if that makes sense.

My bad. Read that too fast.

ELM327 had 5 threads before today. TORQUE and VirtualDyno had 0. Come again?

No big, I'm just spreading the info. It's not a slick deal per say as these are standard prices, but not everyone knows. Now they do :D You can set the VD (teehee) to mimic different dyno...

why not use Torque Lite? it's free.
Post #44832834 added 11-17-2011 6:31 PM by YellowSnow4 in Archived Deals
Why does a virtual dyno plot display Dyno Jet, the brand of an actual dyno? BTW, good choice of car. I bought my '03 WRX new and have never been happier about any other purchase.

I have one of these...I use it over my high-speed internet connection to call my dial-up ISP. :lmao: But seriously, works great! Allowed me to drop to a lower cost cel plan saving $15/mo. I had...

Why is everyone so harsh on this? No need to be nasty... If it's not a good deal just thumbs down and pass on.

If you unplug your batteries, it will most surely reset your codes. If you have a serious code it will come back immediately though. True Story!

Thanks. My 97 Accord is OBDII and my wife's 2004 Corolla is the same most likely. Do Honda and Toyota use proprietary systems, or am I good to go?

The lists of supported cars are just bogus copy/pasted listed, you cannot trust them, the product may have changed inside a dozen times from different factories by the time you actually get one. They...

They both give the same information... one runs on Windows phones and the other on Android phones. The Android version will allow you to display a lot of information/gauges. The limit is more on what...

Thanks for the info OP! Ignore the haters, they're just miserable people who should die.

first off you need to know what kind of car you have. Subarus use "subaru select monitor" to access all the detailed info OBDII cannot provide (like ignition advance multiplier, cam sesnors, tumble...

Well choose Mustang Dyno if you're going to lie about it. That's the best and most "heart breaker" dyno, at least the NorCal ones are.
Thanks for setting off my Laptop alert for nothing.

Anyway of getting around the Android requirement?
Post #44841088 added 11-18-2011 3:16 AM by ThatJeffGuy in Archived Deals
Ahh, so it's regular priced items that some people may or may not have known even existed. Sounds like a slick deal to me! .........................
Post #44842126 added 11-18-2011 4:55 AM by tcope in Archived Deals
There is no "Android requirement"... this post just happens to mention a generic BT OBD adaptor and the Android program. You can use anything that will pick up a BT signal and use the data from the...

Don't you mean Supra?
Post #44853702 added 11-18-2011 11:27 AM by scoobdude in Archived Deals
Kinda. Both apps will be able to do the same thing. Obdii is quite limited by bandwidth (manufacture specific protocols sometimes have a higher baud rate) so a powerful device is not needed to get...

How do you know it will be a lightning deal soon? I would be interested in picking one up. The Kiwi Wifi has been known to drop connections randomly. Alternatively, the Gopoint GL-1 and OBDLink are...

Sorry, not a slick deal. You basically took 2 existing (and well discussed items) and put them together to form a "deal". This is not slick in any way as these are the going prices of these items...
