Specs like contrast ratio, response time etc. are totally biased and mean virtually nothing most of the time. This is more true for contrast ratio than response time.

I have a Asus VH238H. I can confirm what CountChoculitis noted. Asus monitors seem fall short of displaying bright colors. Especially, the deep blue colors came out washed out.
