With a Quad core CPU you can run two instances of vmware. You can run a gpu client for every video card you have (assuming they aren't in SLI mode).

No, to run vmware, all you need is 2 cores of CPU, so if you have a quad, you can run 2 instances of that, no vid card needed. Then you can also run a GPU client on your 4870. So 3 clients total.
