You can, but people like being mean. This monitor uses an IPS panel. all Screens vary, and the panel often has a say in how much it will cost. Most low cost monitors you refer of use TN panels...

This monitor gives you nice resolution (2560s1440) you don't find in consumer grade monitors (regardless of the size). You'll need to have video card that support it (HDMI does not go above 1080p)....
