this was YMMV. I went and got shot down. FB posts also show that it varied by store, with most who received it without purchase had to show the vaguely written FB post to get it.

I read some comments on the fb posts. I think it's YMMV. Some stores gave the lipsticks free w/o purchase. Others require a $35 purchase.

yeah, my store vehemently denied me getting it w/o purchase. Now I'm just trying to find an email address for Macy's to complain.
