The 970 is a socket AM3 desktop model clocked at 3.2ghz, not the model N970. The 2350m is better than the N970, especially in applications that are not heavily threaded.

The cases on these toshiba laptops are extremely cheap, just an fyi. I had no idea and suggested the satellite c655 to my gf, the case was busted and coming apart at the hinges after about 4 months...

If you don't mind Refurbs from Dell whenever they have the 15% or 20% off coupons you can get an i3 with Blu-Ray for that price and sometimes even an i5. These would be the 17R's that they sell.
