Sustained read/write is faster (IE copy/pasting movies) but the latency of finding random pieces are what really makes you notice the difference on an SSD.
You will only get a benefit from Sata III...

I think the rebate form says 2 units per rebate with a max of 1 rebate per household. That tells me you could have bought two (maybe on the same receipt) and got the rebate.
