That tells you TVB is addictive and is hard to get for free as well. The direct TV crap is in non-HD and charge you $30 a month. TVB is a rip off in US.

I just watched TVB Jade and J2 live streaming using BeTV on VLC with a 4-core HTPC that I built a few months ago. The quality is very good and it costs me less than this TVPad.

I couldn't get BETV to show the TVB channels. Followed the procedure in that link, and tried it on multiple machines, running windows 7 and XP. For some reason, the tvchannel.xml file was not honored...

You don't need to install HDplayer.exe to watch TVB. Follow the instructions to install the 1.6.0.2 version. After you copy the tvchannel.xml to the BETV's installation folder make it as read only....

The menu is still in English. The choices inside IMS are in Chinese mostly. The Chinese firmware adds the IMS feeds. I don't think it is possible to continue using the stock firmware if you want...
