I'm more inclined to go for the SATA III Agility 3 60GB drives for $70 AR. Better reviews and performance, it seems. I'm thinking if I buy one at newegg and one at amazon, the rebates are separate so...

Yeah! But where is a plextor/intel/samsung deal?
Amazon currently has OCZ Technology 120 GB Vertex Plus Optimized Edition SATA II 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive (OCZSSD2-1VTXPL120G) for $119.99 - $20 (Post-Purchase Rebate) for $99.99. Shipping is free....

I think ALMOST ALL the Vertex Plus issues can tied back to bad firmware which cause the drive to corrupt data when used with SATA I instead of SATA II or III. Primarily those are in laptops since...

yeah they had some firmware issues like every other company. Intel had issues last year. Crucial just released a new firmware for their M4 as the old version was causing BSOD's. so OCZ is not the...

Had a vertex 2 60 gb, first one died in under six months, second one died in under a week (brand new from RMA). I didn't bother requesting an RMA for a third.

for the ocz agility i think its better to get the 120gig instead of the 90gig you put up. same price but its a $20 rebate instead of a $30 but $10 for a extra 30gig is good... they rushed...

The 120GB Agility III says between 1/23-1/31 so that one is still good. I have one (just got another) and as long as you make sure the firmware is up to date the drives work excellently.

i have my Vertex 30GB in my Asus laptop. ever consider it's just your laptop and not the SSD itself?

If you look at the rebate (at least on the 120GB Vertex Plus), it says must be purchased by 1/22. So, I'm thinking it is no longer valid anyway.

I realize reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt, but the reviews on this drive are a red flag. In this case, I personally give them more credence because I'm going through an RMA with OCZ...

Avoid this one at all cost. Not worth your headache. The plextor/intel/samsung units are the reliable way to go, this is with over 150ssds worked with.

The reviews scares me as well. Although I don't have any important data. I can't afford to have consistent problems. But at less then $1/gb I am having hard time letting this pass. Please let this...

What's the difference between this 'optimized' version and the standard vertex plus? Also, an fyi, the vertex plus uses an indilinx controller, not sandforce. At least my standard vertex plus...
