That is the way most boards are. They have a check all box. I am pretty sure SD had the check all box but it disappeared after the "upgrade"

I just added 2 subscriptions and then removed them with bulk-unsubscribe, and it worked fine. Number updated as well. Might want to try clearing cookies or relogging. If that doesn't work, please...
