I was forced to update Darksiders..Steam did not allow me to launch the game until after it was updated.
Ubi can run offline that's why some of them are not affected.

Worst situation- Steam goes down and Steam DRM isn't released.. you can always just go on torrents to dl cracks to the games you own..
As for the ability to resell, there's not much resale value...
