I just cancelled mine. With shipping charge and Tax in NJ. Doesn't pay for me. New Jersey stinks.

It's not. $159 for new. These are very likely customer returns, demo units (assuming these guys even have a store front), or employee sets that they put back into the box and labeled as "burned...

How hard is it to burn it in yourself? Leave your stereo on for 24 hours and in two days, BAM, burned in with intact warranty! These aren't speakers where they would keep you awake.

Wow, way to generalize. I know the quality of these cans, and the value of burn in. My point is that you're buying an item that's used with the warranty void. Your only assurance that it's "new"...

What...? The post mentions NOTHING in regards to sound quality. huevos only said that one can do a burn-in THEMSELVES without voiding the warranty, and that it is simple to do while implying that...

its confusing, you can buy them brand new, but at check out, it still says burned in

That doesn't make any sense. I've never heard of Sound Professionals before, and I would expect that they are MUCH smaller than Amazon. Amazon's customer service is top-notch, I've never had any...

Thanks for clarifying on the pricing as there was a lot of confusion on your website. Before there was an option of adding a NEW m50 to the cart from the "burned in" menu resulting in a headphone...

Because they are specifically getting around the "authorized dealer" requirements by selling these as "used." Audio Technica doesn't attempt to regulate the grey and after markets. Here's a...

The site has had the M50s on sale many times and I've read that a lot have received theirs without problem. With that being said, "pre-burned in" is some serious BS.

Sound Pros are a reputable seller of headphones. I've bought a M50 from them in the past (the older model of the M50). Also for the record, the new models of ATH M-50's have a higher MSRP then...

I just ordered a pair yesterday, before seeing this thread. In case there's still any doubt, A-T's website lists SP as an authorized dealer: SOUND PROFESSIONALS INC, HAINESPORT, NJ.

I have had this pair for a few days now. They sound very good but they tell me that my Ipod Classic 160GB and the Macbook Pro onboard sound card are not as good as an old Panasonic CD player. I...

Thank you, Chris, from soundpro. I ordered a new pair. Also thank you for fixing the coupon error from your website. Looking forward to these headphones.

I have ordered from these guys before and I'm pretty sure I dealt with Chris specifically. I personally was very pleased with their customer support before and after the sale. Not sure why people...

Happened to me as well but I called Chris and he added the coupon manually and refunded the coupon value to my account.

Thanks, Gigamaster89, for the info. "S" is for straight, right?

Correct. sans S is the coiled version.

The burned-in ones have their own product page. You have to search for ath-m50 for brand new, they still show $159.99.

I think the point of bringing up popularity and size means that one shop is much more likely to stay in business. A warranty is only as good as long as the company is around. What if Sound...

Why in the world would you buy a "new" item with the warranty pre-voided, then pay extra for the "convenience"? Putting pink/white/brown/whatever noise is incredibly easy with any of a billion free...

You are actually paying less. I've been keeping an eye on the ATH-M50 on Amazon and it usually only gets as low as ~$130. And since Amazon is not an authorized dealer, this is a better deal IMO.
Post #47457802 added 02-05-2012 11:27 AM by jcfred in Archived Deals
No problem :) To be fair, Amazon has stated they will stand behind their product the same as Audio-Technica, but I'd trust Sound Professionals more as far as honoring their claimed warranty.

Well, it is not BS according to the folks on this website: http://www.head-fi.org/ and they seem to know headphones as well as anybody. However, I will tell you that I personally cannot tell...

It is around ~140 for a pair right now on their site after $20/$30 coupon code depending on if it's the straight or coiled version. Not a good price on the M50s right now. This site had them for...

this "deal" is all manners of fail. OP needs an attitude check.
Post #47467982 added 02-05-2012 9:30 PM by soundpro in Archived Deals
Just FYI - Audio Technica had a price increase on these a while back and they are now watching the MAP like a hawk, which is why the price on these headphones has steadily gone up, not down. Also,...

I've bought some the ATH-M40 headphones from them and the order went smoothly. The headphones were brand new although I realized I could've gotten the M40fs for a little more (same model, but more...
