pretty sure cable noise is noise generated from physical contact with the cables themselves -- on a shirt, your neck, etc... not internally generated noise that affects / degrades the sound itself. ...

bought the cx 200 and the hd 202 II with the same "oh it's cheap, can't go wrong" mentality and basically wasted my money. sennheisers have terrible cable noise.
