Meh. I picked up an Asus mobo for $59.99 last week as part of a bundle with an i5 at Microcenter. Made in Taiwan and runs great.

Who knows, its ASRock....I'm a Gigabyte fan and my previous 2 builds were Gigabyte boards and they've been good. I recently just bought an ASRock P67 Extreme6 B3 board not too long ago and I'm happy...

About 95% of the stuff he says is of no help to anyone. Around 20% of it is funny and every now and then he says something that actually helps.

Since Ivy isn't out yet, it would only be natural to assume its standard PCI 2.0.

Ended you getting this even though I don't have the CPU yet. Can't go wrong with 8GB of decent RAM for $25.
Post #47692942 added 02-14-2012 11:12 AM by vortican in Archived Deals
I suppose that's true, but they're not going to have your mainboard or your RAM, so how would they know?
Post #47694280 added 02-14-2012 11:59 AM by Ananke in Archived Deals
This memory is under the list of supported memory by the motherboards of many manufacturers. I run mine at 1.5V 1600Mhz. 24/7 already 6 months. Never had any problem.

Wow. Useful post. Ignore this person. 1155 is the modern mainstream chipset 2011 is the next high-end chipset, but that doesn't make 1155 "bad" 1366 is dead

I saw that, however I also read that if you need support for your Sandy Bridge, and Intel sees that you have a 1.65v, they automatically void your warranty.

I, like you, used Gigabyte boards for my previous builds as well; but looked elsewhere as they didn't have graphic bios (UEFI). I got the ASRock Extreme 4 Gen 3 board in August, and it's been...

Why do these things only have two years of support?

Are you thinking of getting a sandy or an ivy and why?
Post #47718934 added 02-15-2012 9:14 AM by majorjohn in Archived Deals
Hello, I have a question: I saw this motherboard only has PCI 3.0, but Ivy Bridge hasn't come out yet, I didn't see PCI 2.0 in its spec.
Post #47725220 added 02-15-2012 12:45 PM by majorjohn in Archived Deals
I want to build a new system, so this seems a pretty good deal for me. However, the spec says PCI 3.0 x16, but the picture shows PCI 2.0 x 16, so which one is correct?

Don't think I'm going to wait for Ivy unless I get too busy to game which is the only reason I would upgrade. My E3100 still runs everything just fine, but the mainboard is 2008 tech, so a bit...

In the feedback for that RAM, some people indicate it runs just fine at 1.5V stock speeds.

1155 is bad. Better orf with 1333. 2011 is even better.
Post #47691234 added 02-14-2012 10:13 AM by Deals4Lyfe in Archived Deals
I believe you mean to say 1366 and 1366 was and still is quite expensive, 2011... out of reach for moat people. 1155 is the bread and butter of gamers. If you have 700-1500 to spend on a rig, 1155 is...

Exactly. Even the new Ivy chips (released in about a month or two) can be used on 1155 platforms. Z68 has native support, while p67 chip sets require a simple BIOS flash.

Amazon says Thursday February 16, 2012 - Wednesday March 7, 2012 but I'm not holding my breath. I'm anticipating March so I don't get disappointed.

trollin hard or just retarded? anything 1366* has to offer at the same price range gets slaughtered by the 2500k and the 980x is negligibly better than the 2700k OC'ed for 99% of users. 2011 offers...

It's chong, none of what he types really makes sense. It's like stream of consciousness funneled through babelfish circa 1990.
