Oh, I do understand your argument that we should all make irrational emotionally motivated decisions instead of researching products and being wise consumers. It's rather sad that most people...

My 137 piece set from 2005/2006 has only laser etching. In the Parts List, the sockets are listed as Laser Sockets, not Dual-Marked.
ah... that must have been the 1st generation of those.... i remember seeing them for the first time around that time.... but i got my socket sets a few years earlier. although, even with the "dual...
yeah... although, i don't think they were ever out of stock... they must have disabled it when they got flooded with orders to let the worker bees in fulfilment catch up or something. there are so...

1/4 inch $31 set shows available to add to cart a few mins ago, maybe try a refresh?

No, they make both, though that may not be obvious to the lay person, given that they operate using multiple company names. Reliable information is provided by companies, maybe the media, etc. ...

I realize if Craftsman was using this labeling law/ruling for their benefit, then they were not breaking any laws. I said "cheating" as many would consider such a practice dishonest. I think you...

I'm on my way home from Sears. After buying Craftsman tools for thirty years, I am very disappointed to see Made in China stamped on many of the Craftsman tools. I didn't buy anything except a set of...

Why not? I don't see that in the rules anywhere. Like everyone else, they go where they can find affordable quality. Much of the current economic downturn is due to trying to manufacture in the...

There is great debate over which is better. I believe 12pt sockets on 12pt bolts/nuts can provide greater clamping force than 6pt on 6pt. There must be a reason car axels having more splines is...

Please clarify this statement because I need to know what tools you are categorizing as "crap tools" made in US. I own some HF tools and they work okay but they are not as treasured as my made-in-USA...

YOU were the one that was unclear in your post - and there is no "dishonesty" any more than there is "cheating". Do you claim deductions on your income tax? Do you think that's cheating? Applying...

The annoying part is not just that it doesn't include the sockets, it doesn't make any room for them, like they don't exist. Kind of strange for this type of item, really. Still an awesome price...

It's already the end of made in the USA for me. None of craftsman tool sets I purchased recently was made in USA. None!!!

I checked my local store and some of the sets still say Made in USA. Guess it's getting down to hit or miss for most of the larger stores, though. Eventually most everything will be the China/Taiwan...

I would guess its because of the overlap with the 1/2" socket module and the fact the tray is not made for permanent storage. And none of the tool sets have open spots for additional sockets either.

I cannot speak for the ratchets in the modules, but all the sockets and extensions are still made in the USA. I hope I receive USA ratchets when mine get here though.

I am not referring to the tool sets. Lets stick to individual tools cause they are all stamped made in the USA, made in China, etc... The website is also not a good reference as they use old stock...

Your facts prove nothing is the issue. Just because the FTC has ruling/law about labeling does not mean that Sears/Craftsman are using the ruling/law to label tools made in the USA. If you have proof...

The standard sockets are somewhat comparable, especially for most fasteners, but when you're talking precision stuff, a 5/8" won't fit a 16mm bolt/nut, and a 3/4" won't fit a 19mm. Craftsman and...

You're correct about everything you said, but these missing sockets are available for sale. Also always use a spark plug socket if possible.

5/8" = 0.625", 16 mm = 0.629", so yes, they are the same - the manufacturing tolerance is greater than the 0.004 difference in size. A 19 mm is 0.748", while 3/4" is 0.750", and the 0.002...
