Hi, Thanks for the info. I see there is no built-in infrared receiver for d5100. So how it will work for d5100?

Some of the eBay ones say they will work with the D5100. Anyone confirm a specific one that works for them? At such a low price i'll probably take a chance :)

How is this a slick deal? These are like $1.60 shipped on ebay, every day. Also, FWIW, I've got a generic one that claims to work not only with Nikon but with Canon as well. I only use it for...

As far as I know the 3100 does not support any wireless remotes. It will work with a wired one which is great for your landscape and longer exposures, but makes you tethered to within a short...

However, I don't think this is the ML-L3. SKU number is different and instead of just "Nikon" it says "For Nikon" on the front. It's a cheap knockoff of the real thing.

Yeah, it seems like the D5100 isn't listed for compatibility a lot on stuff like this, but it usually is. I believe it's pretty similar to the D5000. Don't take this as the gospel though -- I was...

What camera do you have? Did you get this exact one (from focalprice) or the Amazon one? It has ONE button and just makes the camera snap a picture, so I can't imagine there's much rocket surgery...

So...this is no name brand produced for FocalPrice? SKU google search returns nothing about it. For $3 can't beat the price, and hopefully it will be on the same quality as Amazon Basic. EDIT:...

I did a bit of research and found that this should work with the nikon 5100. It said : " Yes, the wireless ML-L3 remote does in fact work with the Nikon D5100. You have to hit the 'Information...

Wish this worked with the D3100

They actually disabled it? Wow -- that makes me a little more skeptical about the D5100 since it's not listed anywhere. Does the D3100 work with any remote at all (like the official Nikon one)?

Not true, D5100 has 2 IR's, 1 front and 1 back. I have a D5100 with a non OEM IR remote and it works great.
