I am confused by your statement - is this a recent change? From what I remember it searches the first post, thread titles, AND all the other posts by default. edit: I see now there is a checkbox...

Over the time I have used the site, almost always I type in my search into the search box in the upper right, and then have to click "Search in thread titles only". Any way to have this box checked...

it'll search it, but usually its more effective to look at thread titles only which is what the op is asking for.
