Not P/U this time, since I got this deal last year. I love Kaspersky and I personally think it's far more dependable than Norton or McAfee. ..Just my $0.02. Thumbed up, nice post.

There's an argument that can be made either way. If a person is happy with a stand alone free av they will be fine. But to get the security level of a suite a few compoents may need to be added...

Is Symantec rebates friendly with multiple purchase within a year? Already done a rebates on ghost in Jan this year. I known that McAfee will deny your rebates if you brought multiple softwares...

MSE is good at false-positive? They flagged Google Chrome and remove it for you! Kaspersky lets you decide at least.

Not to be a thread troll, but I just don't understand why anyone wants to go through this trouble. Just download Microsoft Security Essentials. Its free, a quick download, and the most light weight...

While I agree with you about MSE, Norton Ghost is not anti-virus. It is one of the best back-up programs out there. Very helpful in cloning hard drives.

MSE's detection rate is not comparable to Kaspersky's or Symantec's. Look at any benchmark on av-test, av-comparatives, etc. http://www.av-test.org/en/tests/test-reports/novdec-2011/ MSE ranks...

I have no empirical data to show if MSE is as powerful as Kaspersky or others, but from my personal experience with it I have never contracted a virus or malware that it could not handle. And I will...

Yeah Kaspersky rebates are very reliable, however they are also fairly slow. They use the entire 90 day period before sending your rebates out. Its funny I saw this thread because yesterday I just...

That deal expired a long time ago. It was a $20 for $40 Newegg credit on google offers in November. The voucher was suppose to be expired by 2/28/12 but they extended it into March something. So...

I'm mighty suspicious that I'll be making $25 on this deal, but I've put in my order, pre-registered the rebates, and will submit them. At least it gives me something to do with the couple dozen AV...

As with any unwritten rule, YMMV just like with McAfee rebates. I prefer to stay safe and do no more than 3 upgrade rebates per product for Symantec regardless of the offer number since I have...

Microsoft Security Essentials is nowhere near as good as ESET NOD32 or Kaspersky, or any of the above mentioned anti-virus programs. I know many people who have had issues with MSSE. Look at some...

True. it is definitely worth taking into consideration. It seems like it could be a valid argument that a different promotion with a different rebate value from a different store should not be...
