probably depends on how well built / strong your gun is. +p ammo isn't recommended on every .38 and others can eat it up like nothing

I would suspect that Remington ships these to dealers in "cases" of 10 boxes. That would be why 10 boxes is a case instead of the "usual" 20. Don't forget, 500 rounds of .38 take up much more space...

If your gun is marked ".38+P" fine. If marked ".38", guess what? Not fine. Our J frame Smith airweights are +P guns. And any .357 can take any .38 ammo.
