Correct, do NOT remove anything, the Win 7 upgrade disc will also check compatibility with most everything (never 100%) but if you have a "modern" program that is not being run in a Virtual XP mode...

The other thing that I'm not wanting to lose is Microsoft Office. It was pre-installed on my CPU, so a clean install would wipe that as well and there's no back-up disk specifically for office.
