The failure rate is 5% for me. Yes, as you say Chase won't give you points if they don't see it on their card. But the higher cashback is worth the tiny risk for me.

Hmm. I syncd with Facebook and that worked fine. Then I syncd with Twitter using another Amex card and a different email address from the one I sync with Facebook. Both appeared to have worked.

I synced the staples offer about 3 days ago and i went to a staple yesterday and purchased a $50 shell gift card. I then instantly got a mail from American Express Facebook confirming my $10 saving :)

I have never done this before. Has someone made this work on multiple AMEX by syncing them with different FB accts? Hotmail offers real aliases which would come in handy for this.
