If I use the 300mm on FX camera at 1/300, and use PhotoShop to crop the picture out for 2.7x sensor would get. NIKON 1 just doing that same job behind the 300mm lens, because the sensor didn't...

Good points. I'm curious. Does the VR work with those lenses on this camera? 810mm equivalent with a tiny body with no balance seems tough to get a clean shot without keeping it at 1/1000.

Saying the GF3 is a way better camera is very subjective. I would personally would rather have the J1. I had the GF3 and sold it. One thing to remember with this deal is that you will pay sales...

The GF3 also has a 40-150mm lens that costs $300, making it nearly as expensive as this kit, as long as we're comparing apples to apples. Plus, this camera can track motion using phase detect, and...

The Olympus E-M5 (not EM-5) has been blown way out of proportion by hopeful fanboys. If you're familiar with the Panasonic m4/3 lineup, it is basically Olympus' version of a G3/GH2. If you imagine a...

Sorry, but you misunderstand the rule. Look it up. Since the image is cropped, you have to move back. That's the whole point of claiming 800mm equivalent...you can stand farther away. And since...

Is anyone interested in just J1 with 10-30mm lens (black)? I would like to take only 30-110mm one. Let's split!

Olympus EM-5 is the hot new mirrorless camera at the moment and should equals or beats this puny Nikon in every area.....if you have money to burn of course.

Yes, if you're cropping, it does the same thing. It also puts much more strain on your image if you're enlarging a photo 3 times more. Any small shake that wasn't visible in a particular enlargement...

This is a good deal. I just hope someone like me don't have Costco member. Amazon have it for the same price with more lens combo option...

Cameta has Olympus E-PL2 double lens kit (14-42, 40-150) for $550 if you want to do a fair comparision.....

That's more fair. The Nikon kit is definitely overpriced for the image quality you get, but I just wanted to point out that it wasn't quite as stark as that first replier made it out to be.

This Nikon is hugely over priced. GF3 has been selling for $330 in Target, it is a way better camera, and video hack was out yesterday.

That is not ture. Many people misunderstood that rule. These smaller sensor just crop off the picture to give you the DX lens 1.6x or NIKON 1 2.7x effect. So u still keep 1/300 will be ok. I...
