I'll have to check whether the light is always on when the tv is off, when I get home from work. I'm not sure what the big deal is. A lot of tvs do this so the user can tell whether it's on or off....

You are right about the M8 bolts. I had to go buy new ones because the ones I used on my old TV were about 5MM too short. On the washers though, there are 4 plastic washers in a bag in the TV box...
