just get a video card and see ifit runs it ok. you can probably make do with 4gb of ram.
2gb of ram is what is recommended. tell the wife the new video card uses less energy and makes less heat....

Under normal circumstances you can NOT use weapons instead of skills until you run out of the resource the skill uses.
There's no time you should want to use weapons though, as they are weaker...
