I think the monumental key here is the resolution of 1920x1200. This would make a great PC monitor, would of been nicer had this been housed in a traditional bezel.

I don't think $170 is that cheap for a 28" HDTV when 32" sets can be had for $200. There's a (small) market for this type of set or they wouldn't have made it.
