I've had this unit for about a year. While it functions well as a GPS, I sometimes find the screen response to be a bit sluggish. Still, I think it's a steal at this price.

It is designed to work with your phone as a headset. Many fancy cars already have this built-in. But for me, this is a huge plus. Cops in NE are very good at catching people talking on the phone.

I think some GPSs let us create a custom route online (using Google Map,...) then import the rout to the GPS. It takes more time than the method other member have suggested above but I think create a...

Correct. I picked up the 1450 LMT at Target last week for $89.98 and have been quite happy. The Lane Assist has been extremely helpful, especially because Garmin GPS units tend to be ever so slightly...

That's the 1450, not the 1490. Still, not a bad price for the 1450, a little cheaper than Amazon, but not as cheap as the $90 deal at Target.

I have this one and another Garmin and they tend to give much better directions that Google Maps IMHO. Goog Maps seems to send me the ways when I use my Cell phone with Google Maps.
