There MAY be a slight improvement in overclocking headroom on the 2700, but unless you're trying to win some kind of contest I doubt you'd see much difference in regular minor to mid range...

No. Since you are overclocking, the difference for you will be just wasted time and money.

Isn't IB supposed to drop in June (that was confirmed by Intel)? So that would make it....7weeks?
EDIT: According to Wikipedia, 29th of April 2012 is release date. You are correct.

from what ive read, (not sure if im 100% right) but performance wise, z68 is almost identical to the z77, but z77 is a few watts more efficient. Is there anything else im missing from this? thanks

No I believe he's referring to Ivy Bridge processors i7 37xx which are die-shrink versions on LGA 1155. However these may require a bios upgrade also.

This is not a "deal" let alone a "slickdeal"... Microcenter has had the 2700K at this price for a very long time, with the 2600K being $279.
I agree with prior posters, there is no difference...

The 2700k does seem to be a higher clocked 2600k. I can't say anything about the overclocking capabilities though. The 2550k however, doesn't have built-in graphics. That's a major difference.
