Been looking for a beginner dslr or micro 4/3's camera..

It should be perfect. My Mom is heavily into photography and got me the D3000 for our honeymoon in 2005. It was my first real DSLR. It was perfect and the pictures were fantastic. Depending on where...

I'd skip it. Get your own SD card, or just use what you have now. It will be fast enough for photos. A beginner camera is a beginner camera. Yes the D3200 is coming out this month, but given...

I'm curious, would you recommend this over a t2i? Really torn between the 2 right now.

Long way to go, currently new D3100 is in range of $550. If new pic price go down by $50-75-100 than Factory demo will also go down by that much margin but in general it will never go below $350/$360...

More specifically, it's a factory demo, but still. Authorized dealer means that this is a decent price. Yes, it is probably the best Nikon camera for a beginner photographer. If you wanted an SLR, go...

I got the Canon Rebel XS with kit lens and a a free nice camera bag for $300, the D3100 seems like a much better camera though!

Not sure, but by all reports it's usually a very low use camera. I got a 4/3 camera from them, and it was in good condition. No recommendation. Not much wrong with any cameras these days. ...

I am in for one. Been waiting on a deal, and this is the cheapest I have seen it. Includes 1 year warranty. Thanks!

It depends on how close you are, how much quality you're willing to pay for, and how lit up the stadium is. If you're shooting during the daytime, then the 70-300mm VR is your best bet. The 55-200mm...

How long is this deal for? Just not sure whether or not I should wait or pull the trigger. So far I have Nikon CoolPix which is DSLR but I want a SLR. I was waiting for Canon Rebel T2i but this...

35mm f/1.8 is more useful on the DX crop cameras. I have both for my D90 and have never bothered to use the 50mm since the 35mm came out a few years ago. It is also on my camera 90% of the time....

I bought D5100 and the price dropped by 50$ in two weeks. I filed a claim and received a check with in 5 days. Buysafe service is very good.

A37 coming out too. :) FWIW, I find the 3-series cameras (and the A55) much too small. The A57 is reportedly the same size as the A65, which is just barely big enough for me. I prefer even...

You really do not gain much with the A65 over the A57. The sensor of the A57 is the same one in the D7000, K5, NEX 5-N, etc. and will take noticeably better pictures in low light than the A65. Plus...

Good treatise, but you missed one thing. The SLT's have full-time PDAF for video, so it may be the best compromise for video and stills (if size isn't important). Personally, I think video on an...

Just because some divisions of a huge company like Sony are bloated does not make their partnership with Zeiss any less effective. I'm sure the pro photographers who run dual systems just to use...

Just because sony has partnered with others does not make them great in Optics. Here is the real Sony today: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/sony-axe-10-000-jobs-113417764.html

FYI, they also have a refurbished D3100 with the 18-55mm lens AND 55-200mm lens for $559. Costco has this package for $699 new, for comparison.

I'm not entirely sure the D3100 video an be triggered remotely. I know there are some threads out there regarding wireless control for photos so maybe those work for video as well. The video quality...

Hey, it works for me. I'm sure your stuff works for you. I'm not out to convert anyone, and I DID buy this camera largely out of curiosity. I want to see if a real SLR is something I want to have....

How many do you need for video? ;) Isn't one enough? Your points are valid...which is why I don't plan to use a DSLR for anything like that. That's what video cameras are for. I'd at most use...

Since I've had bad experiences even with new Dell laptops, I would say yes. The reviews on Cameta seem to be very good in general for this refurb and plus they are a Nikon authorized dealer.

The a55 has the same EVF I believe. However the a65 has the improved LED EVF, and I've read some pretty favorable reviews of it. Of course it's about $400 more than the a35/55... Decisions,...
