On a fixed lens(does not zoom) like the 20mm 1.7, generally you are able to take a picture with more clarity especially in a lower light situation, you have less distortion all around with a fixed...

A good deal but would rather spending money on a 20mm pancake lens as it beats the purpose for me to use Micro 3/4 in the first place. Would use my regular DSLR instead of Micro 3/4 if I don't care...

Well, if you desperately want a huge zoom you go for this one, but the 14-140 is a real zoom lens in terms of close to far. This one starts out relatively far.

I saw it for $165 on EPP this morning, too... so it was out there for that price. I also looked at eBay and people are bidding $220+ for this lens. This is a good deal from Amazon.

These are very good points. The 20mm sits on my GF1 95% of the time. But there are occasions when you know that you want a telephoto and don't need a fast lens. Outdoors/nature photography being...

Are you referring to the 20MM f/1.7 as the one you use 95% of the time? (just got the GF3, so I'm new to all of this) Right now, I have the stock kit 14-42mm and while it takes nice pictures, it...

I have the GX1 and use the 20mm pancake.. It's great. The 14-42 they send with it is absolute crap by comparison (plastic mounts, feels cheap, lens mechanism sticks when zooming).

Well, for one, you'd be paying $40 extra for OIS in the lens that you don't necessarily need. Unless someone can confirm that the lens-based OIS is significantly more capable than the IBIS.
