Do note that these speakers are rated at 6 ohm, not 8 ohm. I know quite a few Sony receivers and some other receivers aren't rated to run 6 ohm speakers. Might not pose a problem if your receiver...

I think its fine to just setup a 5.1 system even if your receiver can do 7.1. But you gotta get a sub man..makes a huge difference!
