an SSD will randomly move stuff around for wear leveling. You don't have to be concerned about fragmentation on the SSD as it doesn't affect it as badly as it would a HDD. Look at performance numbers...

He's right. The physical movement to get to the correct spot on the disk is what took time. Defragging put related information close together so that movement was reduced as much as possible.
