if you are looking for a desktop,
you can probably get one that plays those games well for under 800.
you can check out
cyberpowerpc.com
they have some frames per second listed for games...

My GeForce 540m ran it just fine and I just spent 750 on my Toshiba. Oh and I had all settings on high.

My ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT runs the beta smoothly at lowest settings. Didn't try higher settings.

I AGREE with Curtie..my pc is about the same age because his vid card is in the same lineage as mine...i got the 8800 GTS...and I turned everything to low. It played fine, I didnt even try higher...
