Keep in mind that SATA 2 or SATA 3 makes absolutely no difference in the speed of these drives. They can't even saturate SATA 2's bandwidth.

Yeah, but when they get overly hot the heat radiates through the plastic case. Just use a 9" AC table fan on it and it will be fine. Got lots of fans for 75% off at Target. ;)
