7770 or 6850?
Post #49653918 added 04-29-2012 12:28 AM by Milstar in Archived Deals
I should fit perfectly. Mine is a half inch longer than my 4670 and fits more than fine in my system (Dell XPS 420).
I would think so. Have a 7750 and it more then handles Crysis, Crysis2, Skyrim, CoJ, CoJ2, etc. all on max. I have never tried BF3 though. Other thought, Nvidia is better at handling BF3? Nvidia...

Flickering sounds like a failure to maintain higher clocks. My 5850 flickered when I had it downclock to its lowest P-State of 157/300 when I had two monitors plugged in. When it correctly went...

How badly power supply constrained? Will a Dell 350Watt PSU run this card? Edit: I currently have a Radeon HD 4670 1GB which is disappointing. The PSU has one free 6-pin.

this video card needs 100W or so by itself and OEM's tend to put a barely better than needed power supply in. I have an antec 80+ 500w and am in the market for a $150 area video card and am really...

doesn't really get easier than opening it up and looking... PCI-e 3.0 isn't a requirement just find an X16 speed PCI-e slot.

How long is this 7770 card? I may need a 7750 to fit in my ATX.

its a new thing but last I checked there wasn't actually a video card powerful enough to actually use the added bandwidth and certainly a $120 video card wouldn't! tigerdirect on ebay had an Asus...

DEAD The cheapest 7770 I could find out there, but for an extra 10.00 it is a good step up from the 7750, which works for us power supply constrained users. ...

6850, craigslist in my area has it from 80 bucks to 120 w/o haggling
There are testaments to the issue being real with at least 4000 and 5000 series, and perhaps even later. Overclocking by even a tiny amount causes immediate flickering for my cards, which is not...

It isn't going to matter with this card. 2.0 or even 1.1 will be fine.

Newegg just seems to cancel orders as they apparently cannot manage their current inventory shown online.

Your resolution makes a huge difference. I'll assume 1080p with medium/high settings and say pretty darn good. A 6850 still easily beats it, but of course you'll pay more than 119.00 for it and...

Yeah, I have the slot, I just wasn't sure 3.0 was something that was required as I had never heard of anything over 2.1 before.
I'm interested in getting this but worried about overclocking it with my 2-monitor set up (earlier Radeon card versions caused flickering/screen tearing on my secondary monitor). Anyone know whether...

No, I can assure you that you don't have 3.0, but it will work with what you got. The latest intel z77 boards have 3.0. No AMD boards have it.

If the PSU has a 6 pin connector then it should handle this no problem. It doesn't sound like you have too many components on that PSU. I would look to upgrade to a slightly larger PSU such as a...

Any easy way to find if I am able to do PCI-e 3.0? I can't find it listed online on my PC specs for my model.
