i think it takes 8 weeks to receive the rebate, but if you cancel the contract after you get the rebate you will pay a early termination fee, either way they will try to get their money back

Only 100 network minutes, but you have unlimited data. You can run a VOIP app and route your calls over the data network. I use Google Voice and talkatone, but GrooVe IP is good too.

This is great. I can buy a used 1st gen Iphone on craigslist for about $50, grab an HTC One S, then terminate the contract to get the phone for a total of $350.

T-Mobile has really good month-to-month plans. I'm paying $30/month (no contract) for unlimited everything.

You can't downgrade to it, you'd have to open a new account. It's the Unlimited data (5gigs @ 4g) and 100 minutes plan. You can just use VOIP and get unlimited minutes.

I don't think it works that way. The fine print says that you need to sign a 2 year contract, and the payout for your old phone will be in the form of a Visa Giftcard. So you could sign a 2 year and...

The contract always kills every deal. But its the way the US Phone business works. Your only other option is pre-paid, or buy an unlocked phone at full price and get service month-to-month.
