Camped in Mt. Whitney 10,000 feet and Onion Valley 8,000 feet last year during September (end of summer start of fall). I used a 20+ TNF mummy bag and 1" mat. And it still felt a bit cold at times....

I have a TNF mummy bag regular and long. there is about a 6inch difference. I am 6'0" 180lbs. the regular is just fine. Extra space = cold. Right fit=warm fit.
