Performance isn't that big of a deal, all ssds are fast. Failure rates fluctuations are huge though. Or daily backups to a 2TB raid1 hdd array :)

Not true, drives like the Chronos Deluxe and Force GT use sync NAND. You may be thinking MLC vs SLC NAND.
