Look, this game can't play Civ 5 or Star Craft 2 on medium. That's not an fps game--it's just a modern game. You can be a snob and assume I was being one, or you can be realistic and admit this card...

Your 4550 is a capable emergency backup card. If you're actually talking about playing real games like that, do yourself a favor and either pick up a used 8800GT for $20 or something more like a 5670...

5450 was on par with HD2000. GT240 is a much better card with low power consumption. Especially since you have the DDR5 version. You should consider a upgrade to something like GTX 460.

$25 rebate? Really? That's a "Shell Shocker"? No, that's a crappy deal on a very dated product that should be $15 to $19, no rebate. I'd pay $19, I'm not going to play Rebate Lottery.
Post #49646524 added 04-28-2012 3:09 PM by Larron in Archived Deals
Thanks, all the same, I hate rebates. Especially rebates that are for twice the price of the item. I'd do rebates that turn a good deal into a great deal. I don't do rebates that turn an awful...

Given that their "Shell Shocker" deal (all two dollars of it) went live at 4pm PST, it's logical to assume that the rebate validity would also be Pacific - but that's just my guess.

Is this an upgrade for my GeForce GT240 DDR5 512MB? How much better or worst?
Post #49652256 added 04-28-2012 10:09 PM by The_Doug in Archived Deals
I think you're missing how graphics memory works. The graphics memory is reserved for the textures and images directly displayed on the screen. Although Office utilizes more than 512MB of RAM, the...

There is no comparison between this and a GT240 GDDR5. The GT240 is actually a passable low-end gaming card and completely blows a 6450 out of the water. Unfortunately, the simplest representation I...

The new Intel Ivy Bridge graphics on chip, HD 4000, beats this card by quite a bit. Unfortunately it will only be in the higher end CPU's, which would be dramatic overkill for a HTPC.

So it's only going to be whole $2 cheaper after the sale starts....from what it is now ?? I don't see a hot deal in that.

No, they are going to increase the regular price to show more gap..LOL... You are right actually, its not that much of great deal with just $2 discount

Which makes it useless, right? As long as we're trolling, the A8 still kills the hd 4000. And none of this has anything to to with this $15 card.

Are you saying the 5450 is too slow for 3D 1080p or the 5450 only does HDMI 1.3 while this does HDMI 1.4? EDIT: It's got HDMI 1.4a according the AMD' specs:...

the 6450 is MUCH worse than your Nvidia 240... 240 gets a 1000 on passmark and the 6450 gets a 350.... http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html

I ran a YouTube video while I was typing my comment and was monitoring GPU-Z. My video memory usage actually went DOWN compared to when the tab had a static webpage open.

Play around with that a bit. GPU-Z doesn't seem to update unless I activate the program (by clicking on it) very consistently. Even 360p video had a 17MB or so VRAM bump for me. And each additional...

Should be FP based on prior 5450 and 6450 deals. Gigabyte 4myrebate rebates are actually quite fast.
Post #49625100 added 04-28-2012 2:58 AM by hjohn06 in Archived Deals
Rebate can already be found on gigabyte's rebate site. Kind of odd that the daily steal would be 2 dollars off, unless they are going to raise the price before then. It'll be funny if it sells out...

Looks good The 5450s that go for $10AR only have 32-bit memory interfaces. 1 series higher and 64-bit memory for $3 seems hot.
