THanks for the feedback! I have Time Warner Cable in a suburb house. Router is in basement. I think I have a 10mb down/1mb up which is just the basic cable speed. I did run the wifi scanner in ddwrt...

I've got two of these running DD-WRT as 5GHz bridges. Both run great!

Positioning can have drastic effects. Since your router is in the basement, angling your antennas at 45 degrees will likely give you a better signal (assuming your router has external antennas)....

From what I have seen so far, the difference between the E2000 and E2500 is gigabit ethernet and dual band performance. The E2000 has gigabit while the E2500 does not. And the E2500 can utilize...

Interesting... I ignorantly assumed that the 2500 was just better all around... and that it was the next model step from the 2000. Not sure why the gigabit is not in the 2500. I have a gigabit...

This is all true. I only have about 12-15 networks that I can see from my house which has little interference from other networks. If your area is indeed that congested (+50 networks), then you're...

Bought 2 of these, and I'll return the 2 E2500 I purchased from staples 7 days ago. 5ghz is not supported yet by DDWRT and I have experience with the tomato interface from my WRT54G routers I setup 4...

Your anecdote is just that - anecdotal. Just because your home isn't congested with 50+ wireless networks don't assume others are not. From my apt my phone's wifi analyzer can see over 100 g/n 2.4ghz...

Picked one up. I'm paying for 50/20 mbit FIOS and only getting 2 MB/s with their shitty g router. Hopefully I can figure out how to hook this up to their router. Apparently with FIOS TV you have to...

I've never had a problem streaming 1080P/720P from computer to computer using 100MB router lan wire, nor using wireless G (full signal). Wireless N certainly helps, but if your talking about netflix...

No external antenna's. It is an Asus. Im not going to bother modifying it as I rather just buy a new, faster router with externals instead. It is up against cement wall, so that could be to. I might...

Well if it works for your needs, keep it and save the 12 dollars and hassle. The nice thing about the E2000 is that you can flash custom firmware like DD-WRT or TomatoUSB. They definitely can help...

I already own this E2000 router but do not use it right now. When I moved, TWC made me use their Motorola SBG6580. They don't charge me to rent it and it has been working fine, so I didn't complain....

Why don't you just go with 5 GHz band? I'm pretty sure not many people use those. Besides, there's whole lot more channels to work with. 150 mbps should suffice even for streaming raw 1080p blurays....
